Engelmann Spruce grow steady for up to 300 years and can be 150 feet tall. It is common for them to live 500 to 600 years old. Their bark is thin and scaly in texture and reddish brown in color. The needles are 0.5 to 1 inch long and dark green to blue green in color. The cones are small 1.5 to 2.5 inches long.
