Would work best with roughly round seeds like the onion family. With flattened seeds (tomato) it tended to put out several seeds at once. Recommend separating seeds 1st that tend to clump together. The seeds end up falling out the side of the plunger. They recommend holding the seed sower at a 45 degree angle (I say with the slot in the plunger down) & then the seeds tumble out into a space the size of the end of your finger. If you can't pickup the seeds with your fingers, this is better than nothing.
